Health and Safety Policy Statement

KONE’s purpose

In a world where cities are constantly evolving and more and more people choose to live in them, we at KONE stand with one clear aim: to shape the future of cities.

We make urban life more vibrant and livable. And we do it by enabling safe, sustainable, and effortless people flow for all. We help cities leave a positive mark on the planet - for the next century and beyond. We shape the future of cities.

Safety ambition

Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s a responsibility we all share. Every day our ambition is to reduce safety risks and prevent injuries. We must stay informed, look out for one another, and actively promote safe practices.

Our safety objectives are to:

  • Have all our employees, partners and users of our equipment return home safe every day.
  • Continually improve our health and safety performance.
  • Be the leader for health and safety in our industry.

Safety commitment

We design our solutions and processes to ensure we operate safely and sustainably in everything we do.

Complying with the laws and regulations of societies and other requirements in which we operate is the starting point for our business operations. In many cases our safety standards and management processes exceed legal requirements.

At KONE, we are all responsible and accountable for making sure that both ourselves and others affected by our work are safe. We must follow work procedures and methods, and report incidents and safety observations. Everyone is required to assess the safety of the task at hand and has the duty to stop work if unsafe, ask for support, and take the necessary actions to continue safely.

All KONE leaders are responsible for providing their teams with the necessary means, training and competence to work safely. They must lead by example, ensure the consultation and participation of workers and drive for safety improvements.

KONE’s Executive Board has the ultimate ownership and accountability for safety and that the KONE Health and Safety Policy and the safety objectives are compatible with KONE’s strategic direction.
